attorney-at-law | partner
Marc is a Supreme Court litigator, knowledge management partner and head of the Research Department at Banning. He has extensive knowledge of general (Dutch and international) law of obligations and property law, insolvency law and (Dutch and international) civil procedural law.
Marc is primarily engaged by lawyers from other firms to advice on and conduct Supreme Court proceedings and preliminary ruling proceedings. Private individuals also entrust their Supreme Court appeals to Marc. He furthermore advises lawyers (as a “lawyer’s lawyer”) in appeal proceedings (with a view to possible Supreme Court proceedings).
As a Supreme Court litigator, he is first and foremost a lawyer, rather than a legal theorist. But his analytical skills and scientific knowledge are essential in Supreme Court proceedings to best represent his clients’ interests before the highest civil court in the Netherlands.
An eye for the necessary detail, but without losing sight of the big picture and the essence are characteristic of Marc.

In cassation, knowledge and legal science are not a goal in itself, but are necessary to tackle the challenges that the client puts on the table in a well-equipped manner.
